Meet Sergio, One of our Valued U.S. Vets

On Veterans Day, we’re proud to profile Sergio Soto, who joined Vantage™ in September as our Warehouse Supervisor at Oleochemicals in Chicago. He spoke on his experience in the Marines and the privilege it provided him to meet people from all walks of life.
“We were able to look past what made us different and see the importance of working together,” he says. “In this, we learned to accept people for their character rather than insignificant differences.”
Sergio says unit cohesion was priority in the Marines; their livelihoods depended on it. “It motivated us to build strong working and personal relationships amongst ourselves,” he says. “We were able to not just work alongside one another, but to trust one another unconditionally because we all had the same principles and creed.”
This foundation, Sergio says, gave them a bond that will last a lifetime. He has used this behavior to create trusting relationships with his new co-workers at Vantage and is motivated to succeed together with them.
